Reframing and Overcoming Rejection

“Rejection is God’s protection.”  Jamie Kern Lima

Jamie Kern Lima explains that setbacks and rejections are not indications that your dreams will not happen; they’re just an inevitable part of a journey for anyone brave enough to pursue their dreams and goals.

Jamie Kern Lima is a New York Times best-selling author, host of The Jamie Kern Lima Show, and Founder of IT Cosmetics. She started the company in her living room and sold it to L’Oréal in a billion-dollar deal, becoming the first female CEO of a brand in its 100+ year history.

You were not rejected, God hid your value. This powerful statement reminds us that sometimes what appears to be rejection or disappointment is actually a redirection toward something greater.

In moments of adversity, it’s essential to recognize your inherent worth and value. Just like a precious gem hidden beneath layers of earth, your true essence remains intact, waiting to be discovered.

So, embrace your uniqueness, trust the journey, and remember that your value transcends any external circumstances. You are worthy, cherished, and destined for greatness!

“Hundreds and hundreds of setbacks and rejections are no indication your dreams will not happen. It means you’re one of the brave ones going for it.” ~ Jamie Kern Lima

In her book “Worthy: How to Believe You Are Enough and Transform Your Life”, Jamie Kern Lima shares a profound insight:

“In life, you don’t soar to the level of your hopes and dreams, you stay stuck at the level of your self-worth. When you build your self-worth, you change your entire life. You are worthy, and your value is immeasurable.”

“Self-confidence is the belief in your abilities as a person. Self-worth is the belief in your value as a person.” – Jamie Kern Lima. This quote reminds us that our worth extends beyond mere abilities—it encompasses our intrinsic value.

Always Believe in Yourself

“Believe in yourself! Have faith in your abilities! Without a humble but reasonable confidence in your own powers you cannot be successful or happy.”. ― Norman Vincent Peale.

When you believe in yourself, it can help you achieve your goals, manifest your dreams, and increase your well-being.

At the core of Dr. Peale’s message was a call to take charge of your life.

  • “Believe that problems do have answers. Believe that they can be overcome. Believe that they can be handled. And finally, believe that you can solve them.”
  • “Change your thoughts and you can change the world.”
  • “When obstacles or difficulties arise, the positive thinker takes them as creative opportunities. He welcomes the challenge of a tough problem and looks for ways to turn it to advantage.”
  • “Never talk defeat. Use words like hope, belief, faith, victory.”

Mindset, Believing and Behavior Matters

Your mindset is everything. Believe you can and you will! What you believe and think you become.

Not everyone is going to believe in you and that’s okay. At the end of the day the only thing that really matters is that you believe in yourself. So, it’s essential to believe in yourself and to have faith in your own abilities. “Believe you can and you’re halfway there,” stated Theodore Roosevelt. His words remind us of the power of self-belief.

When we believe in ourselves, we unlock a world of possibilities and potential. It’s easy to get discouraged by the challenges we face, but with a positive mindset and unwavering determination, we can overcome them.

“Champions behave like champions before their champions: they have a winning standard of performance before they are winners,” writes Bill Walls.  Effectively, champions behave and believe they are champions first, and success comes later. They adopt a champion’s mindset.

As in sports, belief and behavior matter with respect to building wealth and achieving financial freedom. Your mindset is everything. When you face challenges with a positive mindset, you open up a world of possibilities. Believe in yourself, have faith in your abilities, stay resilient, and you can accomplish anything.

“Leaders are not made in smooth seas when everything is going well. It’s easy to lead when you are winning. Leaders are made in the storm. No one is born though. Toughness is built in the struggle,” explains Julie Fournier. Neither is building wealth and achieving financial freedom.  Successfully and patiently navigating market volatility and economic turmoil requires a positive mindset, believing wealth and freedom are achievable, and possessing disciplined financial behavioral skills.

“Your mindset is everything. It shapes your thoughts, your actions, and ultimately your life. A positive mindset can help you overcome obstacles and achieve your goals. So, take a deep breath and remind yourself that you are capable of great things!” –  Unknown

What you focus on is what you will find and what you believe you will achieve. Believe in yourself and your abilities, and you’re already halfway to success. Keep pushing forward and never give up!

Mindfulness

Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us.

Mindfulness is about fully attending to what’s happening, to what you’re doing, to the space you’re moving through. It is the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us.

The annoying fact that we so often veer from the matter at hand.

Our mind takes flight, we lose touch with our body, and pretty soon we’re engrossed in obsessive thoughts about something that just happened or fretting about the future. And that makes us anxious.

The practice of Mindfulness can help you overcome anxiety, worry and many of the stresses of life.

Mindfulness can be cultivated through proven techniques. Here are some examples:

  1. Seated, walking, standing, and moving meditation (it’s also possible lying down but often leads to sleep);
  2. Short pauses we insert into everyday life;
  3. Merging meditation practice with other activities, such as yoga or sports.

When we’re mindful, we reduce stress, enhance performance, gain insight and awareness through observing our own mind, and increase our attention to others’ well-being.

8 Facts About Mindfulness:

  1. Mindfulness is not obscure or exotic. It’s familiar to us because it’s what we already do, how we already are. It takes many shapes and goes by many names.
  2. Mindfulness is a thing we already have. We have the capacity to be present and we can cultivate these innate qualities with simple practices that are scientifically demonstrated to benefit ourselves and our love ones.
  3. You don’t need to change. Mindfulness recognizes and cultivates the best of who we are as human beings.
  4. Mindfulness has the potential to become a transformative social phenomenon. Here’s why:
  5. Anyone can do it. Mindfulness practice cultivates universal human qualities and does not require anyone to change their beliefs. Everyone can benefit and it’s easy to learn.
  6. It’s a way of living.  Mindfulness is more than just a practice. It brings awareness and caring into everything we do—and it cuts down needless stress. Even a little makes our lives better.
  7. It’s evidence-based. We don’t have to take mindfulness on faith. Both science and experience demonstrate its positive benefits for our health, happiness, work, and relationships.
  8. It sparks innovation. As we deal with our world’s increasing complexity and uncertainty, mindfulness can lead us to effective, resilient, low-cost responses to seemingly intransigent problems.

When we practice mindfulness, we’re practicing the art of creating space for ourselves—space to think, space to breathe, space between ourselves and our reactions.
